Resources for Parents and Families
The DECC is committed to supporting parents, families and caregivers. Parents and families are a child’s first teachers. We all know that what a child experiences in their first years of life affects their ability learn, which will in turn contribute to achievement in school, and success in life.
Children need strong, nurturing connections with caring adults. These caregivers are primarily parents, but often include grandparents and extended family. Caregivers must often balance the needs of children and families with the demands of work and/or school. The DECC is dedicated to providing support that helps caregivers manage these often conflicting demands.
The resources below offer information on childcare referrals, and finding high quality childcare. There are also links to local organizations dedicated to supporting and assisting with health and mental health services.
